Safeguarding in Schools

The Department for Education (DfE) published new Statutory Guidance on Keeping Children Safe in Education in July 2025.  This version is for information, pending publication of the final version which comes into force in September 2025.

It sets out what schools and colleges must do to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people under the age of 18.

Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025 includes information for all school and college staff.  The BWSCP recommends that this is distributed to all staff in schools, colleges and other educational establishments.
