What to do if you are worried about a child

Be SMART, have fun and stay safe online

This page contains a number of links for you to use to get more information.

If you are going to talk to somebody online, remember to keep yourself safe, not everybody is who they say they are - and even if they provide a picture it might not be a picture of them.

Here are some basic rules to follow to stay safe:

  • Never give your address or telephone number to anybody on the web
  • Never arrange to meet somebody you have met via the web
  • Don't send pictures of yourself to anybody

Just be careful what you say and if you are worried about what anybody is saying or asking on the web tell your parent, carer, teacher, youth worker or a police officer.
